Understanding the role and importance of calcium throughout the body

Calcium is an alkaline metal with a silvery metallic colour.

It is the primary metal constituent of our body, involved in all physiological phenomena and not only in bone metabolism.

The regulation of calcium takes place in the pancreas, between the spleen and the liver where potassium and sodium are respectively regulated.

From the pancreas, hormones including insulin travel to the liver or thyroid to regulate calcium in harmony with sodium levels.
The pancreas therefore plays a huge and multiple role in regulating calcium and organising its uptake and assimilation in the duodenum by harmonising the regulation of useful alkaline metals.

The close link between Sodium-Potassium and Calcium thus makes the latter active and predominant in the functioning of nerves and the lymphatic system.
In case of emotional shock, the adrenal glands react (in symbiosis with the pancreas), requesting manganese (stored in the bones), which activates osteoclasts (to break down bone).
The released calcium then travels to the brain to cool it down (to keep a cool head).
The process starts in the lumbar region, then can extend to the hips, back, and finally the shoulders and sternum.
These are the points of the skeleton where bone marrow is formed.
Bone pain, fainting, and extreme fatigue occurring in cases of strong emotional shock are thus explained.

For digestion, the pancreas stimulates the collection of calcium in the duodenum. The arrival of calcium in the blood activates osteoblasts (bone construction and calcium storage), while the brain slows down.

The brain, when active, requires calcium to oxygenate and cool itself.
The pituitary gland commands the pancreas, which intervenes in bone function to release the calcium essential for cerebral activity.

This triangular function Brain-Pancreas-Bone continuously conditions the balance of the entire bone metabolism, a true mineral reserve for the body.
The calcium function records second by second the ups and downs of active exchanges in the head-pancreas-bone triangle.
Physiological irregularities amplify these variations if the general health condition shows weaknesses.

Some deficits remain even if the situation that caused them seems distant, and the link between an original emotional shock and its disturbing consequences is not always made.
The role of calcium is therefore not limited to the bone system alone and it is important to be vigilant regarding the chemical relationships between emotional state, physiology, and the skeleton.
