• Shepherd's purse, of the genus Capsella, family Brassicaceae (crucifers), is an annual and biennial plant particularly widespread worldwide. It is the best-known species.
  Its name comes from the shape of its fruit which resembles a purse.
• This medicinal plant of medium size grows in hoed crops or on the edges of paths.
• A stem, emerging from a rosette of hairy leaves, rises, divides into several other stems bearing small lance-shaped leaves, then extends some hearts and ends with a modest white inflorescence.
• It is harvested all year round, but preferably from late May to September.
