• Common names: Little daisy, Meadow daisy, Easter flower, Margriette
• The daisy has been known for its medicinal virtues since the Renaissance.
• It is a perennial plant that can grow up to 40 cm tall. Its leaves form a rosette at the base of the stem with some small serrations at the top. The white flowers with a hint of pink bloom almost all year round. They form solitary flower heads. The fruit is an oval achene without a pappus.
• It is found in Europe and Asia Minor up to 2500 m altitude but is now spreading almost everywhere. It favours gardens, woods, embankments...
• The leaves are edible raw with a light hazelnut flavour which can become acrid.
  However, they are often used in cooking, especially in Italy.
